01Why Self Leveling Compound Needs a Dedicated Line

Self leveling compound is a low dosage, high value mortar. The additive package (cellulose superplasticizer, retarder, defoamer, fiber) is usually only 0.3-1.5% of the batch weight, yet it decides flow, open time and final strength. A conventional dry mortar plant with volumetric or single-scale feeding cannot hold that accuracy, so many producers struggle with batch to batch variation, fibre balls and surface defects on site.

MG-SL15 is engineered around that problem: a dedicated 0.5% micro additive scale, a low shear 3000L twin shaft paddle mixer, sealed conveying and a formula driven PLC. The recipe tested in your laboratory is reproduced in every 10-15 T batch, and the batch record is stored automatically for traceability and complaint handling.

02Key Advantages

Micro Additive Weighing

Independent high resolution scale for cellulose , superplasticizer and fiber at 0.5% accuracy, so every batch matches the lab formula.

Gypsum and Cement Based

3000L twin shaft paddle mixer handles both gypsum based and cement based self leveling compounds without dead corners or segregation.

Low Shear Gentle Mixing

Paddle geometry and 4-6 minute cycle protect fiber and lightweight filler from being crushed, no fibre balling on the floor surface.

PLC Formula Control

PLC and touch screen store 30 recipes; batch weight, mixing time and packing weight are set once and repeated automatically.

Sealed Dust Free Route

Screw conveyors, bucket elevator and pulse jet filters keep fine powder inside the process; outlet dust below 20 mg/m³.

Compact and Expandable

600-800 m² workshop with 10-14 m height is enough; the line can later add a sand dryer, extra silos or an automatic palletizer.

04Capacity Models and Layout Options

Model Capacity Mixer volume Total power Workshop Recommended for
MG-SL10 8-10 T/H 2000L twin shaft paddle 75-85 kW 500-600 m² Start-up brand, single product line
MG-SL15 10-15 T/H 3000L twin shaft paddle 90-100 kW 600-800 m² Regional brand, 2-3 formulas in rotation
MG-SL20 15-20 T/H 4000L twin shaft paddle 110-130 kW 800-1000 m² OEM plant, multi-shift production

Two layout styles are available: tower style (silos on top, gravity flow, saves one elevator and 2 conveyors) and horizontal style (silos at ground level, lower building height, easy silo expansion). Our engineers recommend the style based on your building height, raw material delivery method and future expansion plan.

05System Composition

1. Raw material storage. Cement and gypsum silos plus a sand silo, each with level indicator, air breaking pads, pressure safety valve and top dust collector. Three small additive bins for cellulose , superplasticizer and fiber, with sealed lids and dosing screws.

2. Sealed conveying. Screw conveyors and a bucket elevator move material to the batching hopper without open transfer points, so fine powder and lightweight filler stay in the process instead of on the floor.

3. Automatic batching. Main scale for sand, cement and gypsum with two speed feeding to reach ±1%, plus a separate high resolution scale for the 0.3-1.5% additive package. Both are controlled by one weighing controller with automatic落差 compensation.

4. 3000L twin shaft paddle mixer. Low shear paddle geometry, 4-6 minute cycle, full open discharge door, polished interior and quick cleanout so the next formula is not contaminated.

5. Packing section. Finished product hopper feeding two automatic valve mouth packers, 20-40 kg per bag, bag clamping and dust suction hood; optional robot palletizer, bag flattening and metal detector.

6. PLC control room. Formula management, production statistics, alarm history and remote support port on one touch screen; the operator can switch product in less than 2 minutes.

06Working Process

  1. 1. Sand, cement and gypsum are loaded into the silos by tanker or bucket elevator; additives are poured into the three small bins.
  2. 2. The operator selects a self leveling formula on the touch screen and starts the batch.
  3. 3. Main materials are weighed to ±1% with two speed feeding, then the additive package is weighed on the 0.5% scale.
  4. 4. All materials enter the 3000L twin shaft paddle mixer and dry mix for 4-6 minutes.
  5. 5. The batch discharges into the finished hopper and is packed into 20-40 kg valve bags with dust extraction.
  6. 6. The batch record (weight, time, formula, operator) is saved automatically for traceability.

07MG-SL15 Compared with a Conventional Dry Mortar Line

Comparison item Conventional dry mortar line MG-SL15 self leveling line
Additive weighing Volumetric feeder or shared main scale, deviation 5-10% Dedicated 0.5% scale, deviation within 1%
Mixing uniformity Ribbon or single shaft, fibre balling common Twin shaft low shear paddle, CV below 5%, no balling
Formula switching Manual cleaning, 20-30 minutes downtime Full open door and cleanout, less than 10 minutes

Why it matters commercially

For self leveling compound, one rejected truck load costs more than the price difference between a conventional line and a dedicated one. Stable additive dosing is the fastest way to reduce customer complaints about flow loss, cracking and slow setting.

09Quality Inspection and Testing

  1. 1. Incoming material inspection: steel plate thickness, motor nameplate, reducer and bearing brand check against the order.
  2. 2. Welding and painting inspection on silos, mixer body and frame, with shot blasting and primer plus top coat.
  3. 3. Dynamic balance test of the mixer rotor and no-load running test of every motor and reducer.
  4. 4. Electrical and PLC function test: formula entry, weighing calibration, interlock and alarm simulation.
  5. 5. Trial run with your own raw material and formula, minimum 8 hours continuous, batch samples taken every 30 minutes.
  6. 6. Packing accuracy check: 20 bags weighed individually, deviation must be within ±0.5%.

15FAQ

Q: Can one line produce both gypsum based and cement based self leveling compound?

A: Yes. The 3000L paddle mixer and the sealed conveying route work with both binder systems. We recommend a short cleaning cycle when switching, and the PLC stores separate formulas for each product.

Q: How accurate is the additive weighing, and why does it matter?

A: The additive package is weighed on a dedicated scale with 0.5% accuracy, two to three times better than using the main scale for a 0.3-1.5% addition. This is what keeps flow, open time and strength consistent between batches.

Q: What capacity should I choose for a small factory?

A: 10-15 T/H equals about 60-90 T per shift, enough for most regional self leveling brands. MG-SL20 with a 4000L mixer is available if you plan multi-shift production or OEM supply.

Q: Do you provide installation and training abroad?

A: Yes. Our engineers travel for installation and commissioning, usually 15-20 days on site, and train your operators on formula setting, maintenance, troubleshooting and safety.

Q: What is the delivery time and payment term?

A: 20-25 working days after deposit for the standard configuration. Payment by T/T with 30% deposit and balance before shipment, or L/C at sight, D/P and Western Union.

Q: Can the line be upgraded later?

A: Yes. Common upgrades are a rotary sand dryer, additional storage silos, an automatic palletizer, a bag flattening machine and a bulk loading spout. The frame and control system are designed with reserve capacity.
